We would like to address the concerns regarding the notice sent out last week asking customers to reduce their water consumption. The notice was necessary due to higher-than-normal usage along with an electrical issue at one of our wells, which was resolved the next day. While we discovered multiple customers had leaks on their lines, even after those were addressed, the wells have been pumping larger amounts of water during evenings and weekends.
This usage has been equated to outdoor consumption, since after the rains moved through the usage amounts dropped drastically. To alleviate the pressure on the system, we are asking customers to continue to reduce their consumption where possible. Please avoid outdoor water usage during peak heat hours, running sprinklers, watering trees and grass overnight or between 8pm-10am. This will allow the system to maintain normal pressure for typical usage.
